Porcelain Dental Bridges

A cemented bridge is one option to replace one or more missing teeth. Replacing your missing teeth in a timely fashion is critical because anytime a tooth is lost, the teeth on either side of the space and above or below the space begin to tip and change position thus creating a problem with the way that all your teeth fit together and function. This will result in further damage to your jaw joints, your facial muscles and the rest of your teeth causing the loss of even more teeth in the future. Just like a bridge across a river, a dental bridge is usually anchored to the teeth next to the space with either full porcelain or natural looking porcelain fused to metal crowns. The missing teeth are replaced with either full porcelain or natural looking porcelain fused to metal fake teeth called pontics that are attached to the crowns. Bridges are the same size and shape as natural teeth and are cemented in place so they do not move or come out. They are very comfortable and enable you to chew normally. They are also easy to keep clean and do not collect food around them. When Dr. Strub designs a porcelain bridge, they are so natural looking when you smile that people cannot tell that you have any missing teeth.
