The most common area for dental decay (cavities) to develop in young children’s teeth is in the deep grooves on the chewing surfaces of their permanent back teeth. Dr. Strub can now prevent this early decay in your child’s permanent teeth by bonding a plastic coating over these deep grooves to seal out the cavity causing bacteria (germs). This is most effective if it is done very shortly after your child’s permanent back teeth erupt into their mouth. Done carefully and skillfully, dental sealants can protect the chewing surfaces of your child’s teeth for a lifetime.
